Owl Nursery Ryhme

Started doing Woodbadge this summer, and was placed in the Owl Patrol.  Someone passed along this rhyme to me:

A wise old owl lived in an oak
The more he saw the less he spoke
The less he spoke the more he heard.
Why can't we all be like that wise old bird?

Tiger Cub Christmas

My son has been going to a neighborhood Tiger Cub group.  He received a neckerchief, slide, and belt for Christmas.  It's always a good time to gear up for Scouts, no matter where you are in the program.

Always something new

I always count it a good day at the office when I can point to something specific and say, "I learned something today."  Well, today was one of those days being a Scoutmaster.  I didn't know until yesterday that, according to the Arrow of Light award for the Cub Scouts requirement 6, they should "[h]ave a conference with the Scoutmaster."  Seems I should be having more of these, then.
